RE: Recovery of High-Value Biological Material

The CySigma research vessel Nascence has ceased communications following preliminary confirmation of a diversification event within the trench systems of Pelagios I. Preliminary reports indicate the material exhibits non-hostile, non-sentient behavior. Manifestations: structural reorganization of organic matter, active interface with human neurology, emergent recombinant architecture.

KEY FINDING: Early data suggests extensive creative potential in living substrates, including human neurological tissue. Current applications under review (medical, defense, semiotic recursion technologies).

We advise urgency.

A recent survey of the ocean planet, Pelagios I, reported a potentially “high-value biological diversification event” occurring within the planet’s deepest trenches. The biotech corp, CySigma, quickly dispatched a vessel to investigate, hedging that this finding would have “strong upside for portfolio growth and cross-sector applications.” The vessel, The Nascence, went dark two weeks ago just after confirming its positive findings. CySigma are willing to pay a small fortune to recover what the missing crew found.

E I D O L O N S is a one-shot created for Mothership RPG 1E, dropping players into a well paying contract from CySigma, a bio-tech mega corp, to retrieve a specimen from their silent research vessel, The Nascence.  Once docked, they will see that the world inside the ship is more than what they were led to believe.
